Before he became a god, Kratos was a servant of the Olympians—a Spartan warrior bound by blood and vengeance.

Set years before the first God of War, Chains of Olympus follows Kratos on a mission from the gods to uncover the cause of a mysterious darkness swallowing the world. The sun has vanished, plunging the Earth into chaos. Sent to Attica, Kratos battles Persian invaders and a mighty basilisk, only to discover the real threat lies beyond the mortal realm.

His quest leads him to the Underworld, where he learns that Persephone, Queen of the Dead, plans to destroy the Pillar of the World, bringing about the end of all existence. Alongside her is Atlas, the mighty Titan once imprisoned by Zeus, now unleashed.

But Persephone offers Kratos a choice: abandon his duty and be reunited with his lost daughter, Calliope, in the Elysian Fields… or give up that peace to save the world.

Torn between love and fate, Kratos chooses sacrifice. He leaves Calliope behind, reignites the sun by chaining Atlas once more, and defeats Persephone in a brutal, heart-wrenching battle.
